Jekyll and blogging

I’ve been learning how to use Jekyll to set up layouts for my site so I can quickly add new pages, instantly change the layout of all my pages, and add blog posts without using a CMS or a database. Now that I have that locked into my brain, I found word of other applications that do the same thing, and after reading a bit about them, I wonder if I’ll end up starting from scratch again with something else down the line. Oh well! Liquid is used by enough web applications that it seems good to get familiar with it.

I wasn’t sure if I would have enough to say to justify having a blog on my site, but it can’t hurt. It’s practice for when I do have something interesting to write about. I’ve been unwell for the past week or so and couldn’t concentrate on anything, but now I’m healthy I’m back figuring some site stuff out, and I want to cook up a more fun redesign to fit in with some fun indie web sites I’ve been browsing lately.
